 Smoothies
« Thread Started on Apr 17, 2006, 1:08pm »

Does anyone have any good Smoothie recipes?
I have been using mostly strawberries or blackberries along with ice, honey, and some protein powder here and there. Mixed in some apple sauce last night as well.

I like to mix some pineapple, orange juice, bananas and ice. I've also used low fat frozen yogurt and peaches - throw in some blueberries and yum! A friend told me she uses juice that she freezes into ice cubes so she can have grape or cranberry flavored smoothies, but I haven't tried that yet. But I just got my blender too so yum to the smoothie!

I will have to 86 the bananas

I think I might be allergic to them
but the rest sounds pretty good.

I am so glad you went ahead and recognized the potential joke there, before this thread went way off base.

been playing around with frozen berries and concentrated juice - my favorite combo so far is blackberries with grape juice - if you use all frozen fruit, it eliminates the need for more ice - just add enough water to keep your blender going!

You use ice cream? That is leaning towards a milkshake isnt it?

I have been of late using 8 ounces of Orange Juice, about 12 Frozen strawberries, about a teaspoon of honey and protein powder.

Personally, no. I just ran across those two and thought I would throw them out there since there were not many posted.

I use the protein poweders with no sugar in them. Likewise, I have to restrict fruits and juices as well because of their sugar content.
