As an engineer, I must say that this is something we all knew would happen, we just had no idea exactly when. Not that it makes it any less painful.

Ray Nagin pulled out the victory. Impressive. I dont think he is the best mayor for New Orleans but best of luck to him and all of the citizens of New Orleans and Louisiana.

hey to all we are finally back in our house! we have finally finished the major parts of the house and just have the little final touches. i am actually typing from inside the house and couldnt be happier! im glad my parents are finally almost back to normal, lol just in time for hurricane season. i will have to say its sad that we are the first to finish in the neighborhood. it is still a very sad situation. everyone is in a battle with either their insurance company or contractor. the retired man at the end of the street is pouring his entire life savings into his house because the contractor and insurance are ripping him off. there are tons of blue roofs still in the city. majority are in the lower income areas though. tons of campers in yards and just junk everywhere. there are actually still some houses with trees on them. im going to drive down to cameron soon where the most damage happened and ill send some pics to mr. bs and maybe he will post them.

Welcome Back J! Glad you are back in your house finally. That must be such a relief.
On the other note, it is truly sad that people are still fighting to get back their lives after this much time has passed.
