Just another day for me - although if there is a full moon co-inciding with it - i'm completely hiding

I think a lot of people will be on their toes and a bit paranoid that day. I sure hope it is just another day unless the almighty is coming back.

Our teenage friend Sean turns 18 on 06/06/06. He was wondering if he could be the anti-Christ. I think we can safely rule him out. But there are enough signs around us to make us think twice. None of us knows what tomorrow will bring anyway. At the least, its a good reminder to seek the Lord.

Don't think a Christian, can truly take full stock in their faith AND be superstitious. The two just don't go hand in hand.
Now having said that, ANY day is a good day to stay under the covers, so long as you are not alone there.

Welcome to the board and I agree. The # of letters in my three names is 6, 6 and 6. So you son might have some competition. Ronald Wilson Reagan was 6.6.6. as well. Look forward to more of your posts.

Guess this end times anti-Christ topic can segue back to a central tenet of the Christian faith—Christ as sinless Son of God. Kind of curious what others think of the 'other movie' out right now—the Da Vinci Code. I haven't seen it or read the book, but have a general idea of the premise. Eventually I will see it, but it's not a high priority for me. I think it's good for Christians to have a good defense of their faith in the midst of the typical Hollywood onslaught, but also wonder if all the Christian hyperbole gives the movie more credence than it deserves. General movie reviews haven't been that favorable. Any opinions? Am I allowed to change the subject like that?

Welcome to the boards hwnkicks! Yeah, the DaVinci code movie certainly is part of this whole topic. I agree with you on both fronts about the movie giving christians a reason to think and defend their faith, but also that the hoopla gives too much credence to what should be nothing more than a fun mystery book. I watched a special on A&E tv where they went in search of the Da Vinci trail and they debunked everything outright - problem being, it was on A&E tv - so few will see it. Plus it certainly wasn't theatrical at all - very cut and dried. So no pizazz to match with the book. This is why people will believe stuff like the book as truthful - it glams it up and gives it just enough credence to make it plausible.

I posted on Da Vinci on Summer Movie Thread....it is ok...Book is better....Hanks is boring in it.
Angels and Demons is Brown's best book and it is even more shocking to the Catholic Church than Da Vinci.
Catch Da Vinci later on or on NetFlix..but it was decent.
I do believe all the attention and uproar over Da Vinci has caused even more people to be curious and go see it. I think if they are expecting something earth shattering in the film/book that they will be highly dissappointed.

Oh whoops! I just don't navigate all those threads. (How do you keep up?) Well, I'll jump back to the 06/06/06 topic. Since the Bible gives the number 666 to the anti-Christ, it isn't just an insignificant number. The speculation is how to arrive at that number. Is it the date 06/06/06? Or someone's name (like yours or Ronnie's) adding up to 6-6-6? I doubt it. Neither will change my life (unless you have something to 'fess up to). But the thought of the anti-Christ roaming the earth is definitely sobering. As though there isn't enough evil in the world. Any thoughts?

Thanks Josh - saved me standing in line, I belong to Blockbuster online, maybe I'll just wait. This is one I really WANTED to see since the book was (in my opinion) as good as it was, LOL, even if I am Catholic. Damn me, having the ablilty to distinguish between religion and a good work of fiction, what am I thinking.
hwnkicks - be sobered, I don't think we (humans) have ever lived absent of an anti-Christ, part of our challenges to remain faithful each and every day, not the big things we do, rather all the little ones that we do and take for granted.

I woke up this morning, so either the end did not occur at midnight or it did and we are all here, doing the exact same mundane things.

Did anyone read the story about the woman having the baby on 06/06/06 and the baby weighed 6 lbs 6 oz. The woman was in labor for 6 hours and the baby was born at 6am and they named it Damien?
That is a bit spooky.
I hope that doesnt come back to pitchfork them in the butt.
